Eddie and crew are too notch. Our 2 14 year old girls went the first day and loved it so much, they convinced my wife and I to join them the next day. I was suspicious, but Eddie got this 50+ year old up and surfing the first time. I HIGHLY recommend them to anyone of any age.

We had a wonderful experience learning to surf with Eddie. But I would be remiss if I didn’t note that his wife reached out the week prior due to the weather forecast and proactively moved our lesson up. Neither myself or my son (12) had surfed before and to be honest - I was nervous! Eddie put my fears at ease (my son had no fears!) and taught us basic steps on land and then we were off to the water to catch some waves and hopefully get up on our boards. My son took off first wave - easy up and he was a champ the entire time. Eddie even taught him how to do a 180 which he executed flawlessly. I was up on my 3rd run and with that - a surfing bug was caught and I know my son and I will definitely be back when in Maui to take more lessons. Thank you, Eddie, for the patience, lessons and helping us learn a new skill. Mahalo!

We had a such a good time getting surf lessons! Eddie and his team were amazing with my three boys (ages 10, 8, and 4). All of them were standing up and riding waves confidently! We did have to reschedule due to weather, and they were super flexible with that. Can’t recommend them highly enough! 10/10. Thank you!

I highly recommend booking surf lessons with Surf Yoga Maui. These folks capture the Aloha spirit - so warm, welcoming, and helpful all around. Summer is friendly, responsive, and attentive, making it so easy to book lessons tailored to my surfing goals. Eddie is my absolute favourite surf instructor. Having taken surf lessons in various parts of the world, I have progressed the most with Eddie in the span of a week. I even moved on over to an epoxy board and Eddie taught me how to find the appropriate waves for that board and catch it myself this time around! In every lesson, private or group, Eddie is able to tailor his teaching based on the skill level of each surfer and get them standing on that board! Anytime anyone I know is heading to Maui, I’m sending them to Surf Yoga Maui. Looking forward to the next time I can surf with them again!

Surfing with Eddie was the HIGHLIGHT of my trip to Maui!! I can't recommend him enough. I was nervous, anxious and had tried surfing once before and was not able to stand up. Eddie got me up on my first try! He was calming, kind, fun and caring. This company went above and beyond for my group. I will be booking my next trip around his schedule! Highly recommend

Our private surf lesson in Maui with Eddie was the absolute highlight of our trip! I am 30 and my mom is 65 and Eddie tailored the lesson perfectly to our different abilities! He is a fantastic instructor for all ages! The waves at Kalama Park in Kihei were consistent and perfect for learning. My mom has some reservations, but Eddie's patience and expertise in teaching balance and wave timing gave her the confidence to get up on the board! I have a background in snowboarding and wakeboarding but being from the Midwest I have never had the opportunity to surf before. Eddie really helped me translate those skills to the ocean! After some really helpful instruction on my stance paddling and pop up speed from Eddie, I was able to learn how to feel the wave! As the lesson progressed, he challenged me with bigger waves and technical tips that really helped me improve! If you are looking for the best surf instructor for a family or private group, stop searching and book with Eddie! My mom and I created a core memory that we will be able to talk about for the rest of our lives!

Amazing time with our instructor Eddie!! This was our favorite activity that we did all week and honestly my husband and I were not super excited for it. I was afraid I wouldn’t be any good and it would be a long 2 hours! But they teach at your level and make it so enjoyable! We will recommend them to everyone and will definitely go again if we make it back!

Excellent experience for myself and my family. Eddie was a great teacher, keeping it interesting for myself and my wife who have surfed before, and my 2 kids who never have. Both kids were up on the board and and riding the waves within a few minutes. I would highly recommend this surfing school!

Eddie & Lucas made this experience a perfect one for the whole family. We are very thankful for those hours on the boards surfing waves from the beginning on. They both did a great job guiding us through the process every step of the way. Eddie did a great job with our 5 year old-he was riding a wave on his own thanks to you. So yes, I absolutely recommend those surfing lessons. Mahalo and I am sure we will be back.

Fantastic experience! Lesson was crafted to reflect my abilities and adjusted accordingly as I progressed. I did the 3-day private lessons, and I HIGHLY recommend it! After the 3 days of 2-hr lessons, I felt confident and capable - even in choppy waters on the final day. The atmosphere was fun, chill, and supportive and I didn't just learn and develop skills, but also learned surfing etiquette and expectations - fully equipping me to surf on my own in the future. Highly recommend Surf Yoga Maui!!!

Eddie took great care of my 10 year old daughter and I. The conditions this particular morning meant that there was some waiting time between the good waves, but we spent the time trying to spot some of the many sea turtles that were swimming all around us. overall we had a great experience!

Eddie is such a great surf instructor, we had so much fun learning and catching some waves with him. He was a great teacher, very informative about surfing and the local area. We both stood up really quickly with his help and he gave us (and others in the water!) lots of tips. He was also very safety conscious and helping people avoid slipping or getting knocked by big waves. Thank you so much for a great morning, Eddie!!

The instructors were super helpful! It was my son’s first time who is 12 and he had so much fun. My daughters ages 5 and 9 were hesitant to go but my 9yo was on the surf board by the end of the lesson. They were incredibly kind and accommodating. My husband and I loved how it was the perfect location for leaning because of the mild waves and shallow water. I’d strongly recommend!

Eddie was so incredible with my kiddos. My 6 year old was standing and surfing by himself after a couple waves. The location they brought us to was perfect for learning. My 4 year old was able to stand and ride on the instructor’s shoulders as well. Everyone had a blast. Eddie was very attentive to our children’s individual needs and went above and beyond, ensuring that we made memories that will last a lifetime. This is not your mass group lesson, don’t waste your time anywhere else and use the best company to ensure you have an amazing experience.

This experience was so. much. fun. My kids were all reluctant to go to the early am session, and even more reluctant to get on a surfboard. But by the end of the 2hrs, all had stood up, all were riding the waves, and at least one had developed what may turn out to be a lifelong obsession! Thank you so much for the patient, kind, and awesome morning with Eddie and Carlos. This is one we'd recommend to anyone who has always wondered about whether they could....Go for it!

Great surf lessons! My group of 3 teenage girls decided they wanted to do surf today at the last minute- every company including this one was booked- but these guys went the extra mile to accommodate us by doing a later than normal lesson which was very appreciated! Eddie was awesome - they had a great time and caught many waves. Highly recommend Surf Yoga Maui!

My family had a great time during our surf lesson with Eddie! We had two kids in their twenties and my husband and I— in our sixties. The kids thought it was the most fun thing we did in Hawaii. They got the hang of surfing fast. My husband and I, despite being seniors and big people, were able to surf on our stomach and knees, and even stand up a bit with Eddie’s help. Loved it. Great family activity. Thanks for all of your help, Eddie.

You have permission to share this with anyone :) We LOVE surf yoga! We first surfed with Eddie in 2015. We loved it so much that when we finally returned to Hawaii in January 2025, she and I surfed with him again. He's terrific, supportive and a very talented teacher. We felt absolutely safe (as we did in 2015 when we sent our daughter out with him at age four and a half!). Summer was super responsive and helpful and overall we couldn't have asked for a better experience. Thank you Eddie and Summer :)

What an amazing surfing experience thanks to the friendly and knowledgeable instructors at Surf Yoga Maui! Learning to surf was a bucket list item for a long a time and finally was able to take a group surfing lesson while visiting the Hawaiian island of Maui. The lesson was at The Cove beach park which was perfect for a total beginner, as the waves were small and not at all intimidating. They provided all the gear, all I needed to do was show up and have fun. I even saw a sea turtle swim by as we got in the water! I highly recommend taking a surfing lesson with Surf Yoga Maui!! There was a local photographer in the water taking professional photos of the lesson which I was able to purchase separately afterwards. Thank you for the great surfing experience:)

We had the best time ever with Surf Yoga! The best place for kiddos. We had kids aged 6, 8, 13 and 15 and one adult. I had a terrific experience with Surf Yoga Maui!! I was very hesitant to book a lesson because I'm pretty fearful of waves, but I'm so glad I did! I booked the SUP / Surf package and stood up on multiple waves. Eddie even allowed me to ride a wave on a SUP board while doing a headstand! In addition, Eddie was a very good teacher and made me feel at ease on the water. I even got to see turtles and whales! It was a memorable day for sure, and I would highly recommend Surf Yoga Maui to anyone looking to surf, SUP, or do a combo yoga package while on Maui!

My wife and I, both in our 70's, had a terrific time on our first ever surfing lesson. We enjoyed excellent communication with Summer regarding the booking, were able to take home some photos by Leilani, and we couldn't have been happier than having Eddie teaching us out on the water. He provided thorough and knowledgeable instruction, was always very patient and encouraging, and is very fun guy to be around. We enjoyed every minute of our class and would highly recommend Surf Yoga Maui to anyone wanting to experience the thrill of actually riding a wave all the way to shore. We'll be back!

I’ve never been the type of person to leave reviews but our surfing experience was so amazing that I can’t help but share. Our 10 year old and 6 year old both wanted to try surfing while on vacation. I was nervous that it would just be an experience that ended in frustration since surfing can be so hard and based on my own experience taking a lesson when I was a kid. Our experience with Surf Yoga Maui just could not have been any better. The instruction and attention given to all four of us was amazing. Both kids got up on waves for 2 hours straight and had the best time of the whole trip. All of the instructors were just amazingly helpful and friendly. I could not recommend an experience more than this one.

100+ 5-star reviews don't lie! I had a wonderful experience with Surf Yoga Maui. From the start, Summer we extraordinarily kind and made sure I had the information I needed to be prepared for my lesson. Eddie is a great instructor, and it wasn't long before I was standing up and catching waves on my own. I was not expecting to be able to do it so quickly, and it gave me a lot of confidence to try again. I'm so grateful to Summer and Eddie for opening up the world of surfing to me! It was a nice bonus that they had a photographer on hand to take photos (not included in the cost of the lesson, but not too expensive, either).
