Not at all. Most of our guests are first-time surfers. Lessons are designed for beginners and focus on helping you feel comfortable, confident, and have fun in the water.

Yes. Surf lessons can be a great activity for children who are comfortable in the water and excited to learn something new. Many of our guests are families, and lessons are designed to be supportive, encouraging, and beginner-friendly.

There's no specific age requirement. But we recommend private lessons for children under 10 for safety and to maximize their experience. Otherwise, children under 10 must have a parent in the water with them.

All surf lessons take place at Kalama Park in Kihei, one of South Maui's most popular beginner-friendly surf locations. The park is conveniently located just minutes from Wailea and many South Maui resorts.

We recommend bringing a swimsuit, towel, reef-safe sunscreen, water, and a change of clothes. Surfboards and any necessary lesson equipment are provided.

Surf lessons are offered in the morning, when ocean conditions are most favorable for instruction. Available lesson times can be viewed directly on the booking calendar for each surf lesson.

We recommend booking as early as possible, especially during holidays and peak travel seasons. Advanced reservations help ensure availability for your preferred lesson type and date.

Absolutely! Family and friends are welcome to watch from the shore. Kalama Park has a large grassy area with a great view where they can relax, cheer you on, and enjoy the experience.

Yes. Plenty of public parking is available at Kalama Park, just a short walk from the lesson check-in area.

Kalama Park is located in the heart of Kihei and is close to beaches, restaurants, coffee shops, grocery stores, and shopping. Many guests enjoy exploring the area before or after their surf lesson.

Cancellations made more than 24 hours before your lesson are eligible for a refund, less a $25 cancellation fee. Cancellations made within 24 hours of the lesson start time and no-shows are non-refundable.

If Surf Yoga Maui must cancel a lesson due to unsuitable ocean conditions or unforeseen circumstances, we will work with you to reschedule whenever possible. If rescheduling is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
